If you are planning to build a swimming pool in your garden, it is best to check whether or not you need to apply for a permit for this from your municipality.
Exceptions:
Since 1 December 2010, you do not need to apply for a permit for a pool that meets the following conditions:
-Maximum surface area of 80m2
-No building volume
-It must not rise higher than 1.5m above ground level
-It must be at least 1m from the plot boundary
-It may be up to 30m away from the house
-It must not be located in a sensitive area
-It must not be located in a riparian zone.
Even if your pool meets the above conditions, you must always check the regulations of the allotment permits or the local plans. So be sure to seek advice from your municipality.
Do I have to appoint an architect?
You only need to appoint an architect if the surface area of your pool is greater than 150m2 or if it is less than 2m from a building or plot boundary.
