When you are about to move, it is important to inform yourself well about appointing a moving company. After all, it's about your personal belongings, so you need to have confidence in them. 

We have listed a number of tips that are best taken into account.

• It is best to contact a removal firm several months before the move. If you are planning to move during the summer, it is best to contact them four months in advance;

• Check the website of the Belgian Chamber of Movers to see which companies are approved.

• Discuss how the offer will be made (hourly rate, volume, is a ladder elevator included if necessary, etc.)

• Ask if someone is allowed to help 

• Will all boxes and furniture be placed in the correct area immediately or in a central location

• Do parking signs need to be requested

• Do they visit beforehand to analyze where there may be difficulties (e.g. size of an elevator in the building, is a moving elevator needed, etc...)

• Contact a number of companies so that you can compare quotations and choose the best one.
